Bishop
Daniel Delany founded the Patrician Brothers in 1808, but it was eighty
years before Rome confirmed the Brothers as a Religious Congregation of
the Church. The first leader of this new congregation, called the
Superior
General, was Brother Alphonsus Delaney. The Superior General resides in
Ireland; he is elected by his fellow Brothers to lead, support,
encourage,
and inspire, the congregation in its mission. |
