Delany College commenced in 1997 and has grown in enrolments to 652 students in 2000. The College is a coeducational, Catholic, Year 7-12 school providing an education for children from the parishes of Granville, East Granville, Guildford and Merrylands.

Delany College was known as Patrician Brothers Granville, a Year 7-10 Boys High school, founded in 1942 by the Patrician Brothers, or the Brothers of Saint Patrick. It was one of many Patrician Brothers schools in Sydney, in country New South Wales and throughout the world that continues that vision of the Brothers founder, Bishop Daniel Delany.

Named after the great Saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick, the Patrician Brothers were founded in Ireland in 1808.      At the time in Ireland, ordinary people, and particularly the young faced bleak futures in a degraded and often violent world. Education, in its many forms, became the main way in which the early Brothers tried to help the people around them, and thus built a more Christian and hopeful society.

Today, Delany College continues to be an expression of that vision of Daniel Delany. Our College is distinctively Patrician because, like Bishop Delany and the Patrician Brothers, our faith in Jesus Christ is not separated from the everyday realities of life. But rather we seek to recognise and proclaim the presence of Christ in all people and in all of creation.

Through compassion, practical actions, justice and hospitality we continue the story with a sense of a family atmosphere in our College. We strive to build right relationships with all people so that, as Daniel Delany wrote we can 'love God and live together in peace and charity'.

Rejoicing in hope, through prayer, Eucharist and care for those most in need as the future unfolds we enthusiastically build on these Patrician traditions.
