On the following Sunday, the Fairfield church was packed with people wishing to participate in a Mass of Thanksgiving for the fifty-four years of the school's work in enabling young boys to obtain a Catholic education. The Mass was an excellent celebration, incorporating the talents of many included the msuical talents of students from the high school.

After Mass a group of invited guests moved across the road to the Fairfield R.S.L. for a very well organised and catered afternoon tea. Speeches were spoken, presentations were presented, and stories were shared. (Photo: Some of the Brothers attending the Mass. Primary principals Brothers Richard Doheny and Thomas Rice in photo as well as seconday principals Brothers Mark Ryan and Bernard Bulfin.)

Well done to all involved. The events of the afternoon were a fitting tribute to all who were a part of the story of Patrician Brothers' Primary, Fairfield.

More closing and final farewell ceremonies are yet to occur. Not doubt it will be a difficult time for all the staff, especially teachers like Mrs Jan Bliss who has been a part of the school's story for thirty-two years, and three other staff members - including Jan's husband Robert - who have been at the school for ten years or more. We congratulate the entire staff for the service they have given to their students and we hope they can take some consolation when they look back at their time at the school and see a job very well done.
