member Brother Thomas Rice has sent us the following report on
the first Patrician First Profession ceremony to take place in Papua
New Guinea in around six years. Sounds like it was a great day.

On Saturday August 27th, 2005, the Province was blessed by the addition of five new Patrician Brothers. The following made First Profession. ![]() Brother

newly professed Patrician Brothers sitting atop Bishop's Hill overlooking Aitape Bay below This was the culmination
of three years of Formation under the guidance of Brother Peter Ryan
and Brother Norbert Yeku, who are to be commended for their vision,
diligence and care.
The ceremony commenced
at 11.30 a.m. in the Novitiate Chapel on Bishops Hill. Each of the
brothers had in attendance one invited guest. The celebrant was Fr.
Greg Bourke ofm. And our special guest of honour was Brother Aengus
Kavanagh (Provincial Superior). Brother Norbert Yeku welcomed those in
attendance to this significant occasion for the Brothers in Aitape and
the Province in general.
The celebration itself was a very moving and inspiring one for all present.
