To
bring the formalities to a close, a cake was cut and a short DVD
movie was presented on the life of Brother Charles Barry. The assembly then continued the process of catching-up with each other. The room was filled with excited chatter and much laughter. There were handshakes, kisses, and hugs to be seen all around the room. There were many special moments such as the reuniting of the Charles with Paul (Br Gabriel) McCluskie, the first two Patricians to go to Papua New Guinea, a moment which had to be captured on film – well, at least on a memory stick. It was a great occasion, a wonderful celebration and tribute of a life, of three lives, given over completely to the service of others. (Photo: Charles, Lucian, and Nicholas, cut the cake.) Thank you to Mr
Michael Krawec, Principal of Patrician Brothers’
College, Fairfield, for making the school’s facilities available to the
Brothers and for the large part he played in the organization of the
occasion. Thank you to the College staff members and students who gave
up their Sunday afternoon – and early evening - to ensure the day went
so smoothly. Thank you to Charles’s community of Nicholas, Richard,
Gerry, and Domenic, for the many hours of work and worry they
contributed. (Photo: Charles

are some links which tell a little about Charles's history, in
Fairfield, in Papua New
Guinea and his current ministry at Delany College:
